Search messages in mailboxes by keyword?
I have a customer who was sent a subpoena for emails containing a certain keyword. Is there any way in Exchange 2003 to search mailboxes for messages containing a keyword? This needs to be done on the server...not on each workstation... THANKS!

Not without third party products. Legato is one i've worked with in the past. All will cost you a mint. How many mailboxes are we talking about here?

Well that's not too bad to do manually then. You could open each mailbox with outlook and print every email with said keyword.

You can use exmerge with extgra logging to export mail with a search criteria of your keywords. you can then look into the exmerge log to see which mailbox contains the searched for mail. not an ideal solution but it could work b
