Search index not working on Outlook 2013

Hello everyone,

I have a Windows 7 machine, 64 bit with 4 GB RAM.

The Outlook is connected to MS Exchange 2010 and the mailbox size is of 4GB.

The search option is not working since the mailbox quota has been increased.

Steps I followed but which has not resolved the issue:

  • Rebuilding the index
  • Checking/unchecking the Exchange cache mode
  • checking/unchecking the Windows features- windows

    search or indexing service

Please help me to find a fix for this issue. Regards, Vyas

Hi,

Would you please detail the symptom a bit more? Is the issue that you can't search items in Outlook?

Try both Instant Search and Advanced Find in Outlook, do they work correctly?

You mentioned you tried unchecking the Cached Mode, then the search would be based on Exchange. I suggest you search emails on OWA as well, check the result if the search can work. This step helps determine whether it's an Outlook issue or an Exchange Indexing issue.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply. Both Instant Search and Advanced Find in Outlook do not work. Searching in OWA also results in the same issue.

Hi,

As you have the issue even when searching on OWA, I suspect it's more mailbox related then. Post the question in Exchange forum and there will be experts helping you with this issue:
