Search Not Working - Outlook 2013
I have done everything, rebuilt the index multiple times, added and removed Outlook from indexing options. No love. It seems to return current email results only but if I were to search an email a few weeks old it wouldn't find it.

Hi,

Check to see whether you have missed the following registry keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows Search\ProtocolHandlers\Mapi15

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{2027FC3B-CF9D-4ec7-A823-38BA308625CC}

Also, remove from Index and add in Index again then Reboot.

Control Pannel: Uninstall Programs, select MS 2013 and click change. Add Key (never asked during setup). Reboot.

Control Pannel: Uninstall Programs, select MS 2013 and click change. Repair. Reboot.

Launch Outlook. See that now Index Status is working.

I have Mapi, but not Mapi15.

Mapi is a string with value Search.Mapi2Hanlder.1

What value is Mapi15 supposed to have?

I ran a repair on Office 2013, but I still don't have these keys

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows Search\ProtocolHandlers\Mapi15

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{2027FC3B-CF9D-4ec7-A823-38BA308625CC}

My problem is the search won't go very far back like it did in 2010.  I used to be able to search everything I had.  Now the search will only go back a couple of days or months.  I know there are older email with the terms I'm looking for.  In some cases I have been able to manually go back and find the email, but that can be pretty difficult.

It seems the registry path is for 64-bit version of the OS? If we are using Windows 7 32-bit, do we just remove teh Wow6432Node path and everything else is the same?

If the Mapi15 folder is missing from (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows Search\ProtocolHandlers\Mapi15) what should we do then?

          A solution I have not seen anywhere and does not require you to rebuild you index or all the other time consuming options. When the search stops working in Outlook (online mode not cached) after applying any roll-up. go to program and features select "Microsoft Full Text Indexing Engine for Exchange" on the exchange server and select repair. give it a few minutes and the function will start to work again.
