Search Index not working on a few MDBs
I have been trying to find out why OWA search is not working for some users. I have worked out that users are affected on 4 out of 14 MDBs. The 4 problems MDBs are in two SGs (two MDBs in each SG). I have run ResetSearchIndex.ps1 against all 4 MDBs. No errors, but search still does not work for those users. I noticed in the event log, every time I run ResetSearchIndex.ps1 there is an Information event 108 for each MDB that search is being enabled for. The 10 working MDBs are mentioned - the 4 problem MDBs are not. So then I checked the value if IndexEnabled for the 4 problem MDBs - it is set to 'True' in every case. IndexCheckingEnabled is set to 'True' on the storage groups. I have also checked the Full Crawl Mode Status and it is 0 for all MDBs. What else should I check? Hi James. Yes I did all that already. The customer asked me to open a call with MS, MS have asked for isinteg to be run on the DBs, customer doesn't want the downtime. So until they agree to it we're a bit stuck. http://www.wapshere.com/missmiis

Can you have a reboot of mailbox server and check whether search Index is working or not.Anil

This problem has actually been going on for some time and I know the cluster has been failed over in the meantime, which is pretty much the same as a reboot.http://www.wapshere.com/missmiis

A full shutdown and reboot of the servers fixed the problem. I don't know why this should have been different to a cluster failover.http://www.wapshere.com/missmiis
