Screenshot and Cropping

Not so much a question, but a note of concern.

If one takes a Screenshot, (not clipping) whether it be in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Outlook, and then crops it, in 2010 the original cropped background shows, even while saving and sending to someone else as an attachment.

Meaning, if you were to crop a sensitive item, and then send it, someone on the other end can click on the image, and then under Picture Tools/Format, click on Crop and see, let alone streatch to show what was in the background.

To me, this is a BIG security breach.  I don't think you could do this in 2003, or 2007 as it became a fixed image.  Now it is a dynamic one.

Am I off base on this one?

Suggestion is to save screen clippings as PDF's.

Hi

There is a way to avoid this.

On the Picture Tool contextual tab in the Adjust group.  Use the Compress Pictures option by default it will delete all the cropped sections of the image.

If you use the prepare for sharing it will remove these potentially embarassing items too.  File, Info, Check for Issues.

Hope this help for next
