School project about outlook
Good day to all, For my school I had to detect a problem within the company where I am now an intern. I also have to look if there is a way to solve this problem. Because I am not so familiar with outlook I want to ask the question first here so maybe you can point me in the good direction. Ok now the problem: At work we work with an e-mail adress like ams-age@companyname.com from here all mails go to several other people on their personel company e-mail. It happens a lot that people are responding to the same mail, this is for the customer very confussing. Is there a way that we can keep the standard mail adress & personel mail adress but that we can see if somebody already replied to the e-mail. Thank you in advance

The best way to handle that is with some kind of workflow application, which routes the mail to different people who are available to answer it. But Outlook is not capable of doing that. Are you using Microsoft Exchange? If so, you could direct all that mail to a public folder or common mailbox, and direct people to use drag and drop to take the mail out of the folder or mailbox and put it in their own Inbox before responding to it. -- Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." . Hello, I agree with Ed's suggestion: If you have Outlook/Exchange you could set up a shared mailbox ams-age@comapnyname.com. Instead of distributing E-mails that arrive at this mailbox to several people, set up ams-age mailbox as a shared mailbox. Install the mailbox on users that are part of the workgroup that respond. You can do this by right clicking on the user's mailbox and going to properties. From there, go to advanced/advanced/openadditionalmailboxes and add the mailbox. This is, of course after you make ams-age a shared mailbox. Each user in the group can take ownership of the E-mail by dragging and dropping it into their OWN mailbox where they can work with it and it would no longer be found in the share ams-age mailbox for other people to respond to. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/ha011134811033.aspx Cheers, Miguel Miguel Fra / Falcon ITS Computer & Network Support , Miami, FL Visit our Knowledgebase Sharepoint Site
