Schema update - RP issues
Hi, We currently have an Exchange 2003 with tens of RPs, this week the schema was updated for Exchange 2007 and we found that all the RPs was modified to be responsible for all mails delivered to the organization. This is not something that we noted during our tests and I found nothing on the Net. Is it a known bug ? Thanks JP

Not sure I understand the question. What is an RP?

RP is for Recipient Policies. We have around 60 of them with several SMTP address in each and all of the SMTP adrdesses got the box "This Exchange Organization is responsible for all mail delivery to this address" checked. I do not found anything on the Net regarding this. Thanks for help JP

Extending the schema has nothing to do with recipient policies. There are no more recipient policies in Exchange 2007. See here for more detail: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/11/16/431531.aspx I can't imagine why anyone would have 60 recipient policies, unless you are doing hosting, but you may want to look at the accepted domains list if you've got any 2007 servers installed. Otherwise, please post back with the NDR.

we are present in around 70 countries and got probably around same amount of brand... which is not easy to manage the things is that we have severeal policies providing primary email address for a part of business units while the rest of the users are on a seperate system waiting for migration, and those policies are set to not be responsible for all mail to be deliver to the exchange. the schema update was done and all of the policies were suddenly set to be responsible for all mail delivery. I find it weird as of now no Exchange 2007 server are installed in the organization. I just made the test by intalling a simple DC and an Exchange 2003, create 3 RPs 2 which were not responsible for all mail delivery, I then made the Exchange 2007 schema extension (/PL, /PS, /P) and after that all the RPs are now set to be responsible.
