Schema update
Hi There,
Does Exchange 2007 server SP1 requires schema upgrade on Windows 2003 domain?
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb738144(EXCHG.80).aspx
I found there are changes on the SP1 but do we have to run further upgrade the schema through "setup /preparexxxx" command?
I recently prepare our production AD through a serial of "setup /prepareXXX" command using only Exchange 2007 server disc without any SP, but the actually DVD that I am going to install Exchange 2007 Server disc comes with SP1, I can no longer obtain the Exchange 2007 server with SP0. If I am going to install Exchange 2007 server with SP1 on our domain, there are some questions raised.
1. Do I have to perform another schema update before the installation using DVD with SP1? (I prefer not upgrading our schema again as it affects our production AD, as it will involes a few parties)
2. How to upgrade the schema contains in SP1? (Using "setup /prepareXXX")
3. Is there any performance or function degrade if install Exchange 2007 SP1 without performing a schema upgrade for SP1?
Thanks

Yes SP1 requires Schema Upgrade and its pre-rquirement of SP1 installation.
Service Pack would have minor schema upgrade and it is not like bulk of attributes addition when you install Exchange 2007. If you don't upgrade schema then SP1 installation will do it if you are running it with Enterprise Admin account otherwise it may give you error and don't install without schema upgrade.
Yes you can do it with setup /prepareAD
