Scheduling Assistant Problem with Federation
I'm having a probelm with the scheduling assistant. I have 2 exchange 2010 sp1 systems that are federated. Everything fully works in OWA. I'm able to share calendars, contacts in the Outlook client without issues. the problem i'm having is with the Scheduling Assistant in the outlook client. its working fine one way (company a can see the free/busy info for company b in the scheduling assistant), but company b cannot see the free busy information in the scheduling assistant when we use outlook 2010. Everything works fine both ways with the scheduling assistant in OWA. Any ideas?

Hi, The issue might be caused by the Autodiscover service in Outlook client. I’d suggest you verify the following affects: 1. Can the affected Outlook client see free/busy information of other users in CompanyB? If not, click Outlook icon in the system stray with CTRL press down, select “Test Email AutoConfiguratioin” to see if there is any error. 2. If yes, launch IE to see if you able to see the URL https://SMTPdomainofCompanyA/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml; the expected result is a webpage with error code 600. 3. Additionally, try the external URL of EWS of CompanyA. 4. If necessary, try the two URLs in CAS server in CompanyB. If the issue continues, let me know how did you setup the cross forests free/busy sharing. Is there two-way trust? What method did you used, org-wide or per-user? Thanks. Fiona
