Schedule Shut Down of Computers
Hi I would like to be able to schedule a group of computers to shut down at a specified time of the evening. I would like to be able to add/remove computers from the group as required. Can this be done using Group Policy or do you require a third party software and if so what is recommended? Your assistance is appreciated. Jim

Did you ever figure out how to do this?

No need to bring them back up? This is easily done with the shutdown command. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/317371 you could script this easily and just add and remove people from the scripted group. btw: this is an exchange server forum. you might get more support in the 2k8 active directory spacehttp://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=571&SiteID=17

Thank you. I also found amongs others, this software for little money that appears to be working pretty good. http://www.profshutdown.com/ Have not implemented it as yet but have done some testing and it works well.
