STOREDRIVER RECEIVE Events are not logging into Message Tracking Logs for User Mailboxes.

Hi,

I have one customer with exchange server 2013 Environment, when he sent a mail from the mailbox (STOREDRIVER, RECEIVE) events are not logged in Message Tracking Logs, but for System mailboxes we have a STOREDRIVER, RECEIVE events.

But he has events like (STOREDRIVER, DELIVER) for all the mailboxes.

Can you please advise me how to resolve it.

Thanks In Advance.

Hi,

According to your description, I understand that event id for StoreDrive cannot log in Message tracking log for user mailbox, however it works in system mailbox delivery.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Please try to run below command to double check in message tracking log:
Get-MessageTrackingLog Sender a@contoso.com Recipients b@contoso.com MessageSubect Test mail -EventId "Delivery" | FL
Note: pay attention to the value of Source.
Field source will never be blank, more details about Description of Message Tracking Log Fields, for your reference:

Hi Allen Wang,

He is using Java Mail API for sending mails.

If we send a mail to any mailbox we will have 3 types of events in MSGTRKMS file, events like

  1. STOREDRIVER NOTIFY
  2. STOREDRIVER RECEIVE
  3. STOREDRIVER SUBMIT

But in customer environment for user mailboxes he don't have these entries in MSGTRKMS file. But he has a SMTP related events in MSGTRK file and STOREDRIVER DELIVER event in MSGTRKMD files.

Please Refer Tracking Message Flow section in below link:

http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2013/planning-architecture/exchange-2013-mail-flow-part3.html

Only first two steps of mentioned link are missing in Message Tracking Logs.

Hi,

Do you means that the message tracking log only record the process after the transport service communication between mailbox server?
How about manual send a message from OWA?
Please contact the APP provider so that get more details about mail flow.

Thanks
