SSRS 2008R2 export to excel 2010
Guys,

I am using SQL Server 2008R2 and deployed one report (rdl) which results more than 65536 records. So when i am using reporting service to export data to excel, reporting service throws error which is the limitation of  MS Excel 2003. So i would like to configure my reporting service

(SQL Server 2008R2) to export data in xlsx which is MS Excel 2007 or greater version format. Ideal solution would be upgrading ssrs to 2012 but this is not an easy task to go ahead. Is there a way? excluding up gradation to 2012.

Thanks,

Hi,

Regarding for your requirement, I recommend that as you said you could upgrade to Excel 2007. Because Excel 2003 maximum number of rows in a worksheet is limited to 65,536. Excel 2007 could be 1,048,576 rows by 16,384 columns.(http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/excel-specifications-and-limits-HP010073849.aspx)

Next, you could exprot the report to multiple sheets in Excel 2003.

If you have questions related the SQL Server 2008R2, you'd better post the thread to SQL forum:
