SSL Offloading

Dear

We want to perform SSL offloading at the load balancer. Can someone confirm me that I, beside http, still be able to use HTTPS if I perform all tasks outlined in: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn635115(v=exchg.150).aspx ?

We need to be sure that we can use both http and https for all client access protocols.

Thanks for the feedback.
Regards.

Hi Peter,

Based on my knowledge, if you're using a hardware load balancer, we recommend you set SSL offloading to ON so that each Server can communicate with the load balancer by using HTTP.
Setting SSL offloading to ON also provides the following advantages: Simplified certificates management, Improved soft affinity, Improved performance.
Please note, if using HTTP, traffice from the load balancer to the Servers isn't encrypted, we need to make sure the network itself is secure.

Thanks

Thanks Mavis.
What you write is correct, that something already know. The question is: if I enable SSL-offloading, is it still possible to connect also with HTTPS. In other words, does SSL-offloading disables the possibility to use HTTPS?

Hi.

Yes, I used the script as described in: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn635115(v=exchg.150).aspx

However, when I connect directly to the CAS/Mailbox server using HTTP, I'm still being redirected to HTTPS, even after a reboot??? What else should I do to be able to use HTTP?

Thanks for the feedback.
Regards.
Peter
