SSL ... Autodiscover ...
Alright, so, my OAB is failing to synchronize with errors: 15:34:24 Synchronizer Version 12.0.6300 15:34:24 Synchronizing Mailbox 'Johnny Bad' 15:34:24 Done 15:34:27 Microsoft Exchange offline address book 15:34:27 Not downloading Offline address book files. A server (URL) could not be located. 15:34:27 0X8004010FSo, I read around and found out that I needed to add a record in DNS for autodiscover. So, I did this with an A record and a CNAME. Both of allow Outlook to download the OAB again but it also causes certificate errors. The certificate I have is exchange.mydomain.com so there is an obvious mis-match because of the new host record autodiscover.mydomain.com.Before I moved my exchange server Outlook didn't complain about OAB. And there wasn't even an entry in DNS for autodiscover. That is when it was on Windows Server 2003 though. Would that change anything? Is there a way that I can change the place Outlook tries to get the OAB from https://autodiscover.mydomain.com/oab to https://exchange.mydomain.com/oab?TIA.

Alright, I issued the command:[PS] D:\>set-clientaccessserver -identity my-server -autodiscoverserviceinternaluri https://exchange.mydomain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xmlAnd it got rid of the OAB problems. However, now I get a certificate problem right when I open up Outlook. This time the certificate is for exchange.mydomain.com but I'm trying to access it by the server name. So, I'm trying to access my-server.mydomain.com and the certificate is for exchange.mydomain.com. What do I need to change this time? When I issue the command: [PS] D:\>set-clientaccessserver -identity my-server -autodiscoverserviceinternaluri https://exchange.mydomain.com/I get rid of the start-up error but the OAB errors come back. What an incredible PITA this is!!!

Hi, After you add a host record for the mail host name that is mapped to the internally accessed IP address of the CAS server to let internal clients access the server, please refer to the below steps to correct the problem. Warning message when you start Outlook 2007 and then connect to a mailbox that is hosted on an Exchange 2007-based server: "The name of the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940726/en-us Besides, please run Test-OutlookWebServices -ClientAccessServer "CASServer01" to test outlook 2007 autodiscover connectivity. How to Test Outlook 2007 Autodiscover Connectivity http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123573(EXCHG.80).aspx Test-OutlookWebServices http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124509(EXCHG.80).aspx If the problem still persists, then please post the result here that you will get after you run Test-OutlookWebServices. Hope it helps. Xiu
