SMTP Crashed
when i try to telnet smtp i get no response, and comes back again to C:\> prompt http://i6.tinypic.com/66cdljd.pngWe aren't getting any external emails, though internal network users can send/receive emails to each others but they can't get any email from external domain, plus they can send email to anyone outside the network. (internet) I'm using windows server 2003 sp2 + Exchange Server 2003 sp2 i tried to reinsatll IIS+reinstall exch serv , nothing happened , then did smtpreinstall.exe nothing happened, even i reinstall windows and recovered my email, every thing looks fine (database mounted) but again when i tried to telnet smtp it gives me the same prompt (not even a message) I can't get external emails Please help me out ..

So far 12 users have viewed this thread but no one manged to answer, No one know what kinda problem is it, I guess Exchange Programmers wont be aware of this lolz , any way still hoping for atleast an advise, so that i should stop pulling out my hair .. I can give more clue about it when i use smtpdiag it passes all dns test but when it try to connect with my smtp it says, Connecting to mail.mydomain.com [213.x.x.x] on port 25.Error: Expected "220". Server is not accepting connections.Failed to submit mail to mail.mydomain.com.

Do you have any file level AV installed on your server ? some blockport 25.

We just started having the same problem. All tests show that smtp is working except external. MX records prove good. Internal is fine. Firewall settings are good. Exchange has been fine until today. We are running Small Business Server 2003. Could really use some help from anyone that can offer it!!!
