SBS 2008 SP2, BackUpExec 2010, Exchange Management Tools
Whilst installing Backup Exec 2010 it errored, the error is as follows... To back up Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, you must install the Exchange Management Tools for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 on this computer. The Management Tools can be installed during a custom install of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. & To support individual mailbox message and folder restores from Information Store backups, you must also download and install the Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects package version 06.05.7888 or later on the Exchange 2007 server. This package can be found on the Microsoft Web site. I've found and installed the MAPI Client so far. But having scoured the internet this it says to install the managment tools during a custome install. Where can I do this for exchange 2007 on SBS 2008. Exchange is already installed for SBS. (Setup is SBS 2k8 SP2 Premium 64bit, I also have a 2k8 Member Server for SQL). Its a HP distributed software.

This is more of a Symantec question than a Microsoft one, however I think you should not be using BackupExec 2010 directly on an SBS server. Instead: http://www.symantec.com/business/backup-exec-for-windows-small-business-server Mike Crowley Check out My Blog!

Thanks for the reply Mike. It is actually Backup Exec Small Business Server Edition, its just that its on the same CD as Backup Exec 2010. The Product Ref: 20058399. The error message above just says "it can be found on the MS website"....they don't provide any links, which I sort of understand. I've looked around and all I can find is it can be installed during a customer install of exchange. Thats fine but Exchange is installed when you install SBS, so I'm unaware of where I can find this tool on the SBS cd's. All I need to know is how or where I can install the exchange managment tools for SBS.

I've just tried to install this again and its completed, even without the Exchange Tools. All I did was the MAPI part.
