Hi All. Finding drips and drabs of information about the problem we are having but none with the exact same setup as us (which is really simple). SBS 2008 Exchange 2007 (Version 8.3, Build 83.6) (SP3 i believe) Outlook 2010 The user receives emails from one particular domain and the attachment is not in his outlook. When he logs into OWA the attachment is there. When he firsts See's the email in outlook i believe it has a paper clip, but when you go into the email the attachment is gone. If he forwards that email to me (on an external domain/server etc) I receive the attachment. If he forwards it to him self he doesn't! The attachment type in question so far has always been a PDF. I have reviewed this article http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;961940 But it states outlook 2007. I can only assume Microsoft have kept the same RFC Rules in Outlook 2010 as they have in 2007. I have also tried creating a transport rule on the server which looks as follows: "Apply Rule to message when the From address contains sendersdomain.com Set Content-Type With multipart/mixed" The problem seems to continue even with the above rule in place. I am now at a loss and can only imagine the problem is at the senders end. Saying that i was hoping there was something we can do to ensure my user receives the email fine as of course we have no control over the senders servers! Any help on this really appreciated! If you suspect a problem with the message as it arrives at your server, then use pipeline tracing to got a copy of the e-mail as it arrives and then passes through each stage in the transport pipeline. There have been some recent changes in Exchange (you don't say which version you're running, or what service pack, or rollup update) regarding in-line attachments and Apple. I have Exchange 2007 so my steps were a touch different, but the EdgeTransport.exe.Config should fix it for you. I've been fighting this for over almost a year. The above suggestions are also on my thread and didn't help. (No offense)
