SBS 2003 R2 Install Exchange after initial OS loaded
Hello, I can't figure out how to install Exchange on my Small Business Server 2003 Standard server. The problem is that when the OS was originally loaded Exchange was not installed. How do I install Exchange now? I have tried putting the CD in the drive, but because of other microsoft updates I can't seem to get it to install Exchange without wiping the current install (not an option). I have tried to, add or remove windows componets, no sucess there either. I have googled this to no end. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Eric

When you say you are prevented because of other updates, what does this mean? Can you post back with specific error messages?

Normally you should be able to install Exchange via the setup Rerun the setup and select Exchange You can allways remove updates from the server but any update should not block Exchange install Can you post the error you are receiving? Deli

If I click on "Install optional windows componets, a list comes up that does not contain exchange. If I click on "Install Windows Small Business Server 2003, Standard Edition" I get the error message, "Setup cannot continue because the version of Windows on your computer is newer thanthe version on the CD. To erase the newer version and install the older version, restart the computer, boot from this CD, and follow the directions for a new instalation." If I click OK then it brings up the windows install the only option avaliable is "New advanced Installation" it then asks you for the product key after entering it will confirm regional settings. Next it asks you if you want to download newer setup files after which point it wants to restart, which is where I escaped from the setup. ( I couldn't restart the server at that time.)

I would but the word Exchange is no where to be found in add or remove features. I can't seem to find it anywhere, and yes I know where it should be located. I tried to follow the steps on the link, but Exchange is not there.
