SBS 2003 Fax services to Windows 2008 Fax services with outlook sending
Dear Friends, We have been using SBS 2003 fax service with two modems for sending & receiving faxes. Now are migrating to Windows 2008 and Exchange 2007. Does Windows 2008 has the same fax service functionality as SBS 2003 and can we send fax from outlook? Please help. Regards, nitin

Within the Exchange 2007 UM role, only inbound fax support is enabled (deprecated in Exch 2010): http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2007/04/18/437864.aspx Fax in Exchange 2007 Unified Messaging Outbound Faxing is a client side issue or you'll need to use a 3rd party product or provider.

Dear Andy, Thanks for the reply, I understand but this is the current senerio. Inbound fax is received by modem installed on it, routed to a mailbox. Outbound fax is send from outlook to shared fax printer then to another modem installed on SBS. My question is are the fax services of SBS and windows 2008 are same? regards, nitin

I would ask this in the SBS forums to ensure you get the correct information: http://www.microsoft.com/sbs/en/us/forums-blogs.aspx
