Running the Security Configuration Wizard before installing Exchange 2007
I built a Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition 64-bit server and installed Exchange 2007 SP1 on that a while back. After the OS was installed I ran the security configuration wizard to lock the exchange server down before installing Exchange 2007. This server has all the roles on it including MB, HT and CAS. I am going to be moving the CAS/HT role onto another server but this one will be Windows Server2008. Based on the fact that Server 2008 has better builtin and locked down security than Server 2003 do you think it would be necessary to run the security wizard on Server 2008 before I install the HT/CAS roles? Thanks, Alex.

No, but do it after-wards, because the configuration files for Exchange Server 2007 need to be registered. The SCW isnt aware of Exchange 2007, soyou register some XML files to add the configuration settings into the SCW. On Windows 2008 the SCW is installed by default.
