Running Windows server 2003 as domain controller, exchnage 2003 is running on it and configured, everything was fine.
Two things happen the same time, we changed server password no problem I can log on to server as administrator with new password, added new machine and connected to domain with new password, when I try to configure outlook 2003 it prompt for id/pwd, I enter administrator but new password doesn't work neither old one, so I can't add exchange account to XP pro SP3 machine running outlook 2003, I even put the old password back in going in to domain user/accounts. Now server has old password, please help Abo

If the server is a domain controller, it doesn't have a password. Domain controllers don't have server passwords, they only have domain passwords. If you have lost your ability to administer the domain, then you're going to have to try some sort of recovery. What version of Exchange? Is this an privileged account you're trying to use?Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

2003, it is not a privileged account, every time I setup outlook 2003 for a user, I click on outlook, it ask what kind of account I check exchange server, it ask exchange server name, after i type the name it finds it, i type first few letters of user name and click check names it display few names I pick the one I am setting up, click next and it has a prompt for user name and pasword, I type administrator, it automatically put \\servename\administrator, i type password and usually it goes thru the process, but now it won't accept any password, new old, etc... do I have to type user name and his or her password instead, don't remember it been a awhile I had to setup outlook for someone. abo

\\SERVERNAME\Administrator is not a domain account and therefore cannot authenticate to an Exchange mailbox. You will have to log on with a domain account. Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."
