Running Managed Folder Assistant for certain mailboxes only
Hi We are running Exchange 2007 SP2. We recently applied Managed Folder Policies for all mailboxes on a server, but the Managed Folder Assistant schedule was not set. We are looking to set this on weekends/after hours now, but we're worried about load on the server. If users report issues, how can we stop the Managed Folder Assistant from running? Also, is it possible in Exchange to start the Managed Folder Assistant for a certain subset of mailboxes only?

Hi, Yes you can start the ManagedfolderAssistant manually on a subset of users. This example will start if for all users the OU "Some OU": Get-Mailbox -OrganizationalUnit "domain.local/Some OU" | Start-ManagedFolderAssistant And this example on a single mailbox: Start-ManagedFolderAssistant -Mailbox Martina Schedule it to run off hours and your users will not notice anything. Don't think it's possible to stop it once you have started it. You can check the Application Log to see if it has run or not.Martina Miskovic

You can try the below command to instantly stop the managed folder assistant. But it will only stop after the current mailbox is completed. Thanks both. So let's say I have a list of test mailboxes in a file names C:\Testmbx.txt How could I type the Powershell so that it ran the Managed Folder Assistant on only those mailboxes? Also, I assume I leave the Managed Folder Assistant schedule off until we run this test? Thanks again for your help!
