Running JetStress on a VM (Hyper-V)
We are looking at the option to run Exchange 2010 mailbox server (part of a DAG) on a virtual guest (Windows 2008 R2) on Hyper-V. Database/Log drives will be on pass-through disks. What is your experience on running JetStress in this environment? Any pointers you can share? Scanning through the field guide I can't even find the word virtual mentioned ;-) http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2011/04/29/jetstress-field-guide-april-2011-release.aspx Thanks, Jack

I found an article on the guest counter skew. Just wondering if the JetStress result is still valid? Do I need to make any adjustment to get an accurate result. Ideally if MS folks can comment how to get JetStress done right given Exchange 2010 is "supported" in Hyper-V :-) http://blogs.msdn.com/tvoellm/archive/2008/03/20/hyper-v-clocks-lie.aspx Thanks, Jack

If you configured JetStress correctly, the result should be valid. You can compare the IOPS result with the following article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee832791.aspx Thanks. And remember that this is a community forum. If you want something that you havent been able to find through Google or an answer already written here your appropriate course of action is to engage MCS and pay money. Otherwise the links, especially the NetApp one, are the best resources. Mark Arnold, Exchange MVP.
