Room Mailbox Questions
Just started a migration from Exchange 2003 to 2010. I am trying to gain some understanding of the benefits/drawbacks of using a Room Mailbox for meeting room scheduling compared with just using a standard mailbox. If I understand correctly, using Room Mailbox I give up the ability to open the calendar in Outlook in the same way that I open a shared user mailbox, correct? Can a Room Mailbox be displayed in SharePoint? Thanks!

The real benefit of the resource mailbox is that it processes meetings automatically without user intervention- accepting or rejecting based on criteria you set. If you have delegate rights, you can open it Outlook exactly the same way as a shared mailbox. If you have a a web part in Sharepoint to open mailboxes, it should work for a resource account you have permissions to as well. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124374.aspx Managing Resource Mailboxes and Scheduling

Thank you for the reply AndyD. It sounds like the Room Mailbox can give me what I want. Guess I'll have to get in there a setup a test to work with. Thanks for the help!
