Retention policy notification - Exchange 2010
Hello, We are about to implement a retention policy that deletes all mail older than a certain age. Is there anything similar to the quota warning that can be sent out once users get close to the expiration date of their messages? Either native Exchange or 3rd party? Thank you! Vic

Hi Vic, I'll give you the clue, you have to complete it. 1. Create the retention tag as your wish and assign it to a rention policy and assign it to particular users. here in this example we will take it as, you asigned the policy to a user in database A 2. Create a query based Dynamic Distribution group, where it will pull all the users in that particulr database as member of that DL 3. You have to find out, when the Database maintenance is happening ( usually start by 1.00 am) and this managed folder assistant is applying the retention tag between 1.00 am to 9.00 am. make a not of this. 4. you to write a script to send a mail automatically to that DL based on the time, when the managed folder assitance is running on the database. "Get-MailboxServer "Server Name" | fl " find the managedfolderworkcycle parameter you will come to know the time, when this policy applying on exchange object. Its a differnt process, but it will sync with rention policies. Inform me if you have any doubt
