Hello,

we have Exchange 2013 and created one new Retention policy with tag to remove items older then 1 day.

However, i see in my Outlook that policy is applied, and have note saying:

Why items are not deleted?

Hi,

According to your posting, the retention tag Deleted items- remove after 1 day and the retention policy EmptyDeletedFolder24h should be created correctly in server side.

Please run the following command to make sure the retention policy is applied for your mailbox: Get-Mailbox -Identity your mailbox | fl Identity,*Retention*

In Outlook side, please make sure you have applied the policy by the following operation: Click Deleted Items folder, on the Folder tab, in the Properties group, click Policy.

If it still doesnt work in Outlook, please enable the policy in Outlook Online mode to have a try.

Hello David,

thanks for your response.

I tried all your steps and all are showing that retention policy is applied, and in online mode its not deleting anything.

Any other idea why this may failing?
