Restricting User Access - Resource Calendar - Exchange 2007
I have an issue I need resolved. I need to restrict Exchange users from making any changes to the "Shared" or "Resource" calendar I created. This shared calendar was created as a resource calendar to allow the entire office a central calendar to post their public schedules to. The problem I am having and seeing now, is that the FullAccess permission I granted all the users allows any user to go in and remove, change or modify another person's entry. I know there must be a way to setup this resource mailbox to restrict such activities from occuring. What I want is this: Users are able to post to the calendar but not change; Users can't change others entries; Users have Read Only permissions; Users are not able to delete items using w/o sending response. I have already tried giving a standard account ReadPermission to this resource mailbox, but then is not able to display the Calendar in Outlook 2007. It is only when I give the standard User FullAccess, that they can view the Calendar.

Set the rights any way you want, and then tell users to use Outlook's Open > Other Users Folder. You can't open the calendar as an alternate mailbox without them having Full Access. -- Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." . Hi, Please just share the Calendar of the resource mailbox, then give the responsible permission in the UI based on your needs. You don't need to share the resource mailbox to the users. Open Outlook of Resource Mailbox, locate the Calendar and share it, grant the permission in that interface. Thanks Allen
