Restricting Outlook Anywhere
Hello,I have enabled Outlook Anywhere for my users that use a company provided laptop. All is working fine.I'd like to prevent all users from using their home(non domain joined) computers to gain access to Outlook Anywhere. How do I accomplish this? Thanks in advance

Hi,For this issue, you should implement this by using the ISA server which can define the rule to allow the computer to pass through.ThanksAllen

Hi,No ISA server, it is published directory to a public IP.If i use NTLM authentication, would that prevent them from using personal computers, or is ISA the only way? Is ISA 2006 the latest version? Is Forefront replacing ISA?

Is Forefront replacing ISA? Re-reading your question, I have edited this to state this is actually supported by using the following cmdlet. Get-Mailbox "UserHere" | Set-Casmailbox -mapiblockoutlookrpcthhp:$trueIf all users that aren't to have Outlook Anywhere (non laptop users) are in specific OU's you can use:Get-Mailbox -OrganizationalUnit "OU here" | Set-Casmailbox -mapiblockoutlookrpcthhp:$trueIf the requirement is the laptop users can't use their home machines either, then ISA or a supporting third party RP is the answer.Oliver Oliver Moazzezi | Exchange MVP, MCSA:M, MCTS:Exchange 2010, BA (Hons) Anim | http://www.exchange2007.com | http://www.exchange2010.com | http://www.cobweb.com |

Oliver, thanks for those commands. I will jot them down for the future. The requirement is indeed for blocking users from using their home computers. The client only wants them to use the company provided laptops. I will advise them that we need to implement ISA or another reverse proxy.Should we go for ISA Server 2006, or should we use Forefront TMG 2010? I don't know anything about either product to be honest.

Hi,Both should suite your needs. I would ask the question for ISA/TMG setup specifics in the ISA Technet Forums however.OliverOliver Moazzezi | Exchange MVP, MCSA:M, MCTS:Exchange 2010, BA (Hons) Anim | http://www.exchange2007.com | http://www.exchange2010.com | http://www.cobweb.com |
