Restrict User to Outlook Web Access Only
My company has just implemented Exchange 2007 and we have multiple locations. The Exchange server is located at our central location but we would like some of our offices to have Outlook Web Access only (we do not want them to be able to access their Outlook 2007 account from their desktop, we just want them to have web access). First, is this possible? Second how would we go about doing this? I have been searching the Internet and all I find is ways to restrict users to not have Outlook Web Access. Thanks!

Yes this is possible. You can disable MAPI on a per user basis. You can do it either in the Exchange Management Console by going into the users properties and setting MAPI to Disabled on the Mailbox Features tab. Or you can use the shell and do it with a set-casmailbox cmdlet to set the -mapienabled value to false.
