Restoring deleted items from mailboxes on Litigation Hold
We currently have all of our mailboxes in litigation hold in our Exchagne 2010 SP2 setup. How can I go about checking for and restoring any items that the users deleted from their mailboxes given that scenario? I have yet to find any clear directions on how to do so. I keep reading about a 'Purges' folder that I can't find anywhere... Thanks in advance!

Yes. I've read the link provided (thank you both for providing it), but either I'm missing something or my question is still unanswered. I'm specifically looking for how to return ONLY items deleted out of the users mailboxes, and how to restore them. Please advise!

Search-Mailbox The SearchDumpsterOnly switch specifies that only the Recoverable Items folder of the specified mailbox be searched. You can also use this switch with the DeleteContent switch to delete messages from the Recoverable Items folder and reduce the size of the folder.

So there's no way to perform the search through the ECP....this particular search has to be done through the EMS?

So there's no way to perform the search through the ECP....this particular search has to be done through the EMS? Correct. There are some things that just arent in the GUI. If you wanted to exclude the archive mailbox for example, you would have to use Powershell as that option isnt in ECP either. However note that the results in ECP are by folder, so you will have a purges folder created in the Discovery Mailbox that you can easily browse to and access when the search completes.
