Restoring a mailbox backup with another name (another user)
Exchange 2007. How can I restore a mailbox backup with another user/name ? I use BackupExec to backup filegroup and I am able to restore mailbox overwriting the old one ... but I MUST leave untouched the original. Basically, I would like to browse the restored mail. How can I do this ? Thanks.

Hi, I think you should use recovery storage group. I hope this will help you. Regards. Shafaquat Ali.M.C.I.T.P Exchange 2007/2010, M.C.I.T.P Windows Server 2008, M.C.T.S OCS Server 2007 R2, Phone: +923008210320

Also note that in addition to the Recovery Storage Group, BE supports Granular Restore backups and restores. This is something you would have to ask them about.

Hi Ali, I used in the past RSG but I don't remember if I can merge backup mailbox on a user different than backup. Do you know this ? Thanks.
