Restore problem and Default Offline Address list issues
I have a win2k3 sp2 server running Exchange 2k3 sp2. I am moving Exchange to a newer server with the same os/software specs. I have followed the instructions in KB 822931. Only moved 2 mailboxes for testing purposes. The remaining mailboxes are still on the older server. I have ran a backup with no problems. Tried a restore and got error 0xc7fe1f42 on the Public Folder Store. Which due to this error I cannot restore my mailbox database to the Recovery Storage Group and this greatly concerns me. I have also been getting a couple times a day in application log error 9116: OALGen encountered an error while generating the binpatch.oab file for differential downloads of address list \global address list. Additionally, I am not able to rebuild the default offline address list. It goes through Version 2 and 3a lists without any problems. It will find the Version 4 folder, open the folder, find the message and opens the message and finds the previous version list but then I get the same error 9116. I have gone into the public folders and can see the Version 4 folder with the binpatch files and data file. But, the data file has the new server name associated with it and the binpatch files have the old server name. Also, there are no new files in that directory since I moved it to the new server. I have read a lot of different articles about resetting the systems folder (I don't want to do this) and also deleting the OAB folders. I think regenerating the V4 folder will probably fix my problem but I don't know how to do this. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Or is there a simpler fix? I really need help with this because I feel like I'm at a standstill and can't move forward with anything until this is resolved. Thanks,
