Restore Exchange2007 backup with windows backup to another Exchange 2007 Recovery storage Group?
I am having two Exchange, Exchange01 (production) and Exchange02.Now i want to restore Exchange01 backup to Exchange02 so that if in future Exchange01 is get down, so i can mount the Exchange02 RSG and can make the Server Live.I am using Windows server 2008 backup tool for Exchange01.Thanks

Yes, You can make the server live provided that the servers are in the same org, administrative group.All you need is to reconnect the mailboxes after restoration.Cheers :)

With Exchange 2003, it was so easy.But i am little confuse while doing same on Exchange 2007?Can you give me any articles or something for steps to steps detail?Thanks

Hi,That's possible. The Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 database portability feature allows a mailbox database to be mounted on any server in the same organization.http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123954(EXCHG.80).aspxThe steps is the same as Exchange 2003 which you restore the database to the RSG from Windows Backup.ThanksAllen
