Restoration of mailbox in exchange 2007
I am trying to restore a mailbox from recovery storage group. But I am getting a message "An error was encountered while merging or copying the mailbox contents from the recovery database to the linked database. See the report below for the detailed information." in the Display Mailbox Merge or Copy Result window. Please note that I have created two new mailboxes which were deleted from exchange and AD earlier and then we are trying to get the mails from the backup for these mailboxes.

So the RSG is restored and mounted but you can't attach it to a user? Usually reattachment issues are due to guid or are legacyexchangedn issues or something else that is not matching up. Does it fail if you try to attach it to a new AD account?James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

I have not seen that error before, however is it possible that the previous mailboxes are still available via the cleanup agent? If the issue continues, please search the error recorded in Application Event Log. Thanks.Fiona Liao TechNet Community Support
