Resource (Room) automatic confirmation not working
Here's the setup. Running Exchange 2007 Outlook 2007 We have 100 or so rooms (resources) setup so when you book that room in the calendar it will send you a confirmation email stating it was accepted. Only one room is having an issue. Users who are using Outlook 2007 will not get a confirmation but the room was successfully book per the calendar. If they use OWA to book the room they will get a confirmation email. I have had my Exchange Admin look over the settings and he has compared it to other resources and everything is setup identically. Does anyone have a clue what may be causing this? I am able to duplicate it on my machine as well so it isn't a specific user's computer. This worked fine earlier when the users were running Outlook 2003. Not sure what else to look at. Thanks, Jay

Please check if Direct Booking is enabled for the resource mailbox. You can do this by configuring the profile of room mailbox in outlook, go to tools --> options --> calendar options --> resource scheduling --> disable automatic accept....I doubt if this is the issue but still if you would like to check.-V

Thanks but yea...that wasn't it. The problem child room is setup exactly like all the other working rooms. It just seemed to have come up with this particular room when we upgraded to Office 2007. Even then, when we schedule the room using OWA, the confirmation email works...just not with Outlook 2007.

Hi, As my understand that but you are unable to get confirmation email that the room is booked. We need to check if we have configured AutomateProcessing to AutoAccept. Please try to run get-mailboxcalendersettings identity mailbox |fl to get all the calendar settings and then post the output here. Please open the room mailbox in Outlook and then check the Resource Scheduling tab if we have 'Automatically accept meeting request and process cancellation" checkbox checked, if yes, then please uncheck it. Besides, I'd like to if this resource room is upgradefrom Exchange Server 2003?More information to share with you:You do not receive confirmation that a resource has accepted an invitation when you schedule a meeting and you directly book a resource in Outlook 2007http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923934 Regards, Xiu

Thanks, I already found that KB article but it doesn't apply to us. Again, the settings for this specific resource is identical to all our hundred or so resources. It is only occurring with this specific room. Here are the settings from my Exchange Admin: AutomateProcessing : AutoAccept AllowConflicts : False BookingWindowInDays : 365 MaximumDurationInMinutes : 1440 AllowRecurringMeetings : True EnforceSchedulingHorizon : True ScheduleOnlyDuringWorkHours : False ConflictPercentageAllowed : 0 MaximumConflictInstances : 0 ForwardRequestsToDelegates : True DeleteAttachments : True DeleteComments : False RemovePrivateProperty : False DeleteSubject : False DisableReminders : True AddOrganizerToSubject : False DeleteNonCalendarItems : True TentativePendingApproval : True EnableResponseDetails : True OrganizerInfo : True ResourceDelegates : {} RequestOutOfPolicy : AllRequestOutOfPolicy : False BookInPolicy : AllBookInPolicy : True RequestInPolicy : AllRequestInPolicy : False AddAdditionalResponse : False AdditionalResponse : RemoveOldMeetingMessages : True AddNewRequestsTentatively : True ProcessExternalMeetingMessages : False DefaultReminderTime : 15 RemoveForwardedMeetingNotifications : False

Not sure, if there has been any solution for this. I do have similar issues for few of the mailboxes migrated from exchange 2003 to exchange 2007 mailbox servers. Though I have checked the autoaccept is already enabled, even re run the powershell command to set the resource to autoaccept but it still does not works. Can any one suggest what should I do.

I tried moving the resource mailbox to a different store and then re-running the -automateprocessing:autoaccept resoved the issue for these rooms. But I am still curious why it happened at the first place as I have other rooms which were migrated from E2k3 to E2k7 and are in this stores working fine.

I unknowingly checked the "Automatically accept meetign requests and process cancellations" option thinking it meant the mailbox would automatically accept the request and send a confirmation email. What it actually does it just accept the request automatically with no feedback and no complaints. For me this was a case of confused comprehension of confusing wording. Thanks V.

Does anyone know what the powershell command is to disable autoaccept calendar invites, all setting in outlook and exchange are correct but we may have used powershell to enable the AutomateProcessing but we do not know how to turn it off.
