Reply or forward emails with embedded images under href are randomly removed in Outlook 2010

There is an email chain which contains images with href given, but while forwarding or replying this mail(OUTLOOK 2010) , few of the images are getting removed randomly from below chain but not from the latest(fwd/reply) mail. Is it the trust settings, which is are responsible for this behaviour or Exchange takes the decision on it's own ??

As this is not something where download of these images are blocked but I could see the complete <a> href tag along with it's <img> are removed from the view source. Also it is seen only with Outlook 2010, with 2013 there is no such issues.

Hello Rakesh,

By default, Outlook doesn't load external images. But it doesn't delete links (images) from the body. What Outlook version including the build number do you have installed on the PC?

Are you able to reproduce the issue with regular POP3/SMTP accounts? Is it specific to the Exchange server?

Installed Outlook version is: 14.0.0.7113(2010). It's strange as link images are removed randomly, one more thing which was observed here is:- for first two or three time(during fwd/reply) Outlook has prompted me with "Automatic Picture Download" popup, probably due to trust centre settings..

Yet to reproduce it with POP3 or SMTP account !

Take a look at the Enable or disable links and functionality in phishing email messages page.

Hi Rakeshr45,

According to your description, this issue is related to email with embedded in Outlook 2010, the Outlook IT Pro Discussions forum is a better place for this issue, and we will move it there for you.

Regards

Starain
