Repeating login prompt Outlook 2007
I have set up a new email account in Outlook 2007 which is accessing Hosted Exchange. This account works exactly as expected after passing login credentials. This machine is running Windows 7 Enterprise and is a member of a Windows 2008 domain. (domain1.com, for example) When Outlook is open, I receive redundant prompts every few minutes for login to remote.domain2.com. I do not know why I am receiving these prompts. There is no domain onsite with that name. This domain is an external domain for my website and for some pop/smtp mail accounts. I have created a fresh mail profile and added my primary email account and as sson as it finishes configuring, and I login, I start receiving the prompts for this unknown account. There is no reference to this second domain in my profile. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Can you post here what URLs have been set for different Exchange services? U can use following Powershell commands in EMS: get-clientaccessServer |FL Name, AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri get-oabVirtualDirectory |FL Name,InternalUrl,ExternalUrl get-owaVirtualDirectory |FL Name,InternalUrl,ExternalUrl Also can u confirm that OAB has been set on your mailbox account. u can get it by get-mailbox user@domain.com |FL OfflineAddressBook I assumed that you have access to exchange server. Hi, You can also press Ctrl+right click the Outlook icon in System Tray, select Test E-mail AutoConfiguration, click Test button, then post the information under Results and Log tab. Thanks Allen

I am not using Powershell. I also only have access to the Exchange server in a configuration mode as it is from a Hosted Exchange provider. I have used the same settings for the setup in Outlook 2007 as on other machines. My local domain is pakislawfirm. My exchange email account is garymc@mcfarlen.com. My website is www.pakislaw.com. When I open Outlook 2007, it contacts the Exchange server associated with garymc@mcfarlen.com and synchronizes my mail, calendar, etc. This occurs without issue. Then Outlook tries to login to remote.pakislaw.com for some unknown reason. I cannot find anything to disable, remove, etc to prevent this remote login prompt. I have to cancel it three consecutive times and it goes away. A few minutes later the prompts return. Your suggestions are appreciated.

Hi, Have u contacted your hosting service provider? If so what do they say about remote.pakislaw.com. And what about the result of "Test Email Auto configuration" as also asked by Allen song in his post to this thread: You can also press Ctrl+right click the Outlook icon in System Tray, select Test E-mail AutoConfiguration, click Test button, then post the information under Results and Log tab. Thank you for your followup. First of all let me offer some more detail as follows: I have Windows 7 Enterprise and Outlook 2007 on my desktop. The primary email account that I am using is garymc@mcfarlen.com. It is hosted by www.1and1.com. I am logged into my local domain as rgm, an active directory user of the pakislawfirm local domain. This domain resides on a server running 2008 SBS Windows server. The email account associated with the rgm user is admin@pakislaw.com. When I open Outlook, it connects to my hosted exchange account at 1and1 and synchronizes garymc@mcfarlen.com for my mail, calendar, etc. A few moments later I receive prompts to log in to remote.pakislaw.com. Exchange is not active on the SBS server and there is no external Exchange account associated with pakislaw.com. At the present time all the mail accounts associated with pakislaw.com via 1and1.com are POP/SMTP accounts. I believe these prompts are generated as a by-product of logging into the local domain. When Outlook is opened, it is impacted by the mail account associated with the domain user. Since the back-end configuration of this account has never been accomplished in SBS, it cannot resolve and this leads to the repetitive prompts. If you can shed any light on this and a possible solution, it would be very much appreciated. If you need more information, just let me know. I have gone into the SBS server and disabled all Exchange services, logged back in and this had no effect. I contacted 1and1 for assistance and I might as well have been talking to a brick wall. They had no suggestions or comprehension of the problem. I ran the Test E-mail configuration as suggested and a log was created. The log contains entries where the Outlook client is "Attempting URL https://remote.pakislaw.com/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml found through SCP" followed by "Autodiscover to https://remote.pakislaw.com/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml starting". I can find no save option for the log and am not sure if a copy is automatically saved and where. Thanks again for any suggestions.
