Repair the Exchangedatabase with ESEUTIL /P
Hi everyone,I was forced to do a repair on my Exchangedatabase with the command ESEUTIL /P.After scanning 30% the system gave the message "Deleting unicode fixup table".Reading some sites I know it is oke and takes a long time. But my question is: What does "Deleting unicode fixup table" mean or do!!Is there anyone who can answer this?

Hi, When ESEUTIL /P starts, it builds a table (in the temporary database) that describes which table owns each page of the database. There is one record in the database for each page of the database. All the records are inserted into the table before the integrity check begins, and thus the progress bar does not move. A 20-GB database has about 5,120,000 pages. So it will take several hours for that process. If you wanna learn more about how the Eseutil Utility repairs database files. You can refer to the following KB articles: XADM: How to Determine Which Mailbox Owns a Particular Page in a Database http://support.microsoft.com/kb/262196 Hope this helps. Thanks, Elvis
