Renamed ad account : creates problem with autocomplete in Outlook
I have renamed an active directory account (win 2003 and exchange 2003) but when i create a new message the autocomplete feature of outlook suggest the old name (ex: new_account<old_account>). I have already tried many troubleshooting ideas like delete the .nk2 file or rebuilt the Offline Address Book on the Exchange server and redownloaded it on a workstation. Can someone help me? Tnx. What's the situation in OWA? Does it show correct in it? If OWA shows wrong info, we may need to know what all are changed you made while renaming AD account.Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

I think you already followed all steps explained in below article but just make sure in case you didn't... New user does not show up in GAL (This is for new user but changing names in AD, acts as same way...) http://exchangepedia.com/blog/2005/11/new-user-does-not-show-up-in-gal.html If nothing works then check by recreating outlook profile. This is due to replications. Looks like all GC's are not in synch. you can either force replication between GC's or else you can force the OAB download Start outlook click on Tools ->click on send/receive ->click on Download Address Book ->Uncheck Download changes since last send/recieve then click on Ok Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|

Hi, As my understand that AutoComplete tryto suggest possible matches based on names you have typed before. So it could be a outlook client side issue. We can delete the invalid auto complete suggesting. Using the keyboard, select the invalid name using the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW keys and then click delete button. Besides, if outlook is in cached mode, then we need to check if OAB has been updated. So please check the user in address book. Regards, Xiu
