Removing nonexistent e2k7-server.
One of our exchange 2007-servers has been shut down, and got it's disk ereased, without properly removing it's mailboxrole. When running get-exchangeservers in powershell, the server is of course listed, but we're unable to remove it completely from the serverlist. Console1 - Microsoft Exchange - Server Configuration tells me that the server holds second storage group - public folder database. Luckily there is not data in this public folder.Any tip to remove the server? Is there any article/guide for this?Cheers.

Install the Windows Support Tools (from Windows CD) and run ADSIEDIT.MSC, then you can remove the dead server from AD (Configuration, Services, Microsoft Exchange) Configuration/Services/Microsoft Exchange/Your Organization/Administrative Groups/Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/Servers Deli

Is there anything that must be done in the Exchange Management-tool after the dead server has been deleted from ADSIEDIT? Do I have to restart the remaining servers?

Configuration is stored in AD and if you use ADSIEDIT you actually delete the configuration for that server AD replicates this information everywhere and all Exchange servers will have the new information No restart required Deli
