Removing Public Folders
I have migrated from Exchange 2007 to 2010 and everthing in the 2010 server is running properly. So I went to remove the 2007 server but I keep getting the message that it cannot remove the public folders because of replicas etc. I have tried everyting that I can find (knowlege base and tecnet) on how to remove these and just cannot get it. Is there a magical command that I can run to just force a delete?Lee

Lasse’s links will tell you how to troubleshoot this issue What’s the exact error info that you encountered? What action do you perform to receive this error info? Do you plan to keep the public folder data on the exchange 2010? If yes, have you moved all replicas of public folders from exchange 2007 to 2010? Is there any error event in the application log on the exchange servers?James Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com

Best I can tell I am doing the proper things, however these does seem to be a permissions problem which I do not understand. I am a member of the administratos group on the exchange server. asn well as in the Exchange Admins groups, as well as in the domain admins groups, but I still get...Removing public folder "000000001A447390AA6611CD9BC800AA002FC45A0300BB2116B3D58FA8438AC9FF26DE55CB360000000000070000".[Y] Yes [A] Yes to All [N] No [L] No to All [S] Suspend [?] Help (default is "Y"): ARemove-PublicFolder : Cannot delete the object '\NON_IPM_SUBTREE\SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY\EX:/o=WebDevPlus/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)'. Hi, I get lot of these issues. I use to follow this procedure. Procedure: Important Note: Please make sure you have a backup of Active directory (System state) & Public folder database ( *.edb) in case of any issue. 1. Goto any one of your domain controller. Open Adsiedit.msc , Connect to Configuration Container. 2. Navigate to CN=<Storage Group>CN=Information Store,CN=<Servername>,CN=Server,CN=Exchange Administrative Group ,CN=Administrative Groups,CN=<Orgname>,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=<domainname>,DC=com 3. You find Public folder database. Right Click and Remove it. 4. Replicate the Active directory using AD Sites and services. All the Best :) Sathish Kumar Elango, MCSE 2003 & MCSA Messaging http://msexchangehelp.wordpress.com

You should use the cmdlet below to verify that the server you want to remove has no more replicas on system folders Get-publicfolder \NON_IPM_SUBTREE -recurse |ft Name,Replicas How to Remove a Public Folder Database in Exchange Server 2007 RTMJames Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com

I can't see, to get ADSIEdit from anywhere. I search the MS Website and everything I can fins indicates that it is part of the Administraton Tools; but when I install them it is not there. If this is truely an AD issue then why don't the standard AD tools work to resolve this?Lee

I found a copy of adsi edit at another website. When I run it... CN=<Storage Group> does not exist, and yes I understand that I substitute the name of my stroage group. In fact, I have expaneded all trees under configuration and I can find nothing that refers to public folders at all.Lee
