Removing Distribution List from Global Address List
We have as Distribution Group that does not exist anymore. I can not locate it in AD nor in our Exchange list but when we open the GAL, there it is. I did an alias search and still can not find it. I suspect that it was deleted some time ago but possibly some references to it still exist somewhere. How can I remove the entry in the GAL?

If you GAL is updated.. it shouldn't be there.. Try to update your GAL and then check it... Secondly.. i am just curious to know how you are accessing your GAL.. thanks Amit Rawat

However, it may be in the copy of the Offline Address Book on the client machine. Has the OAB been updating regularly? Are there "delta" files in the CAS file system directory? Does the client download a copy of the OAB correctly (remove the *.OAB files from the client and then force a download to see if the OAB files reappear). --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

I figured it out. It was a mail-enabled public folder. Thanks anyway.

So? Please verify the issue in OWA to avoid OAB update related issue. If the mail-enabled public folder is deleted but still appears in GAL in OWA, you may delete it via Adsiedit tool.Fiona
