Remove server from public folder replication
Hi We are running Exchange 2003/2007. One of the 'old' 2003 servers (Exch1) needs to be removed. Before I uninstall Exchange, I guess I need to remove the server from all the public folder replicas. Problem is - we use PF's quite heavily and there are 100's of them :) What's the easiest way to remove the server from the PF replication? If I just uninstall Exchange will this automatically happen? Or do I need to go each and every PF and remove Exch1 from the list of replicators?

You can use 2003 EMS to move replicas or 2007 EMC or pfdavadmin or MoveAllReplicas.ps1http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb331970(EXCHG.80).aspxHow to Move Public Folder Content from one Public Folder Database to Another Public Folder Database http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2007/10/30/447339.aspxYou wont be able to uninstall Exchange 2003 from that server till all the replicas are removed.Don't forget:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb288905(EXCHG.80).aspxHow to Remove the Last Legacy Exchange Server from an OrganizationThe best way to ensure replication is successful is to compare folder item counts between replicas on the 2003 server and the 2007 server. They should match. Folder size wont necessarily match.

AndyD_ You say the best way to ensure replication is successful is to compare the folder item count - is there a tool for this? I have added a new PF server, plan to remove an existing one when the new server is up to date with replication. I have 50K public folders so I am not using moveallreplicas - I need to be able to confirm that replication is up to date before removing the old, retiring server.
