Remove contacts from Addressing using Group policy

Hi, i need to prevent all users from having the option to type a recipients name in the send field within outlook to auto resolve a name in suggested contacts list i.e. external email addresses. The only way that I've been able to achieve this without losing the option to Ctrl+K auto complete eternal address, is to remove the contacts list from addressing (address book - Tools and options).

This is does what i need but it need to be replicated to over 1000 users.

Would be grateful for any suggestions. Running Office 2010/2013 with server 2008R2

Thanks

Hi,

In the Group Policy Editor, find this one:

User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Microsoft Outlook 2013 -> Outlook Options -> Preferences -> E-mail Options -> Advanced E-mail Options -> When sending a message. Enable it and you will see "Suggest names while completing To, Cc, and Bcc fields", don't tick it and save the settings.

In Outlook 2010, it should be similar. Remember to download the administrative templates for both Office 2010 and Office 2013 to find the options.

Thanks for the response. Sorry maybe i didn't explain my issues very clearly.

Auto suggest is turned off in group policy. But if you type in a name and either hit ctrl+k or just send, outlook will autocomplete by checking both global address list and then contacts (suggested contact) . This is fine for anyone within our global address list, but not for contacts.

As mentioned before, the only way I've managed to resolve this issue is to manually remove contacts for the 'addressing' section of the address book. So the only option in there is global address list.

This way users can still access contacts but they can't use autocomplete for them.

Hope that makes more sense.

Thanks
