Remove an Exchange 2007 Organization?
Hi there.. How do you completely remove an Exchange Server 2007 organization? The guidance provided in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998313.aspxadvises to uninstall Exchange Server 2007 from all servers then delete the Administrative Group from AD using ADSIEdit. What if we haven't deployed any Exchange servers yet? We have only extended the schema (Setup.com /ps) and prepared AD (Setup.com /PrepareAD /on:test) but didn't actually install any Exchange servers and now we need to remove the organization? How are the Exchange security groups removed, how is the 'test' object removed from the configuration partition, how are the extended rights removed, etc, etc?Thanks..

I don't care about those things unless there is any reason behind it, however it requires manual removal except Schema roll back which can not be done anyhow.Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Agree with Amit, but if you have previous system state prior to schema extend then you can simply uninstall the exchange and restore the system state backup if you want to revert the schema. But i would say not to worry about the schema if you don't have exchange in your organization.Arun Kumar | MCSE - 2K3 + Messaging | ITIL-F V3

Hi Arun,I think you will only able to restore the previous schema if you have only one DC or if youdisabled the replication before the schema extension, extended the schema and not reenabled it before the restore.Regards,Zoltnhttp://www.clamagent.org - Free Antivirus for Exchange http://www.it-pro.hu http://emaildetektiv.hu

Amit, thanks for the response. I care about those things, that's why I asked the question. In Exchange Server 2003, the 'Setup.exe /RemoveOrg' option was the MS supported method for removing the organization and associated objects. Is there a similar switch in Exchange Server 2007 setup? If not, is there a supported MS process for carrying this out - like a support article for manually removing the Exchange objects?I understand thatthe schema extensions can't be rolled back. Thanks again..

As the guide that you have read, the settings listed in there wont be removed even we just run the Preparation Per my researching, those settings wont harm the environment. And if you really want to remove them, it can only be done manually
