Remove Send Connector on Exchange 2003
1 Exchange 2007 -- 1 Exchange 2003.Beginning process of retiring Exchange 2003 box. It has an Internet SMTP Mail connector installed. It shows up in the 2007 console as a send connector. I've added a new send connector on the 2007 box which all mail is going through. What is the process to remove the 2003 send connector from exchange 2007. Do I simply need to delete the Internet SMTP Mail connector on the 2003 box? Thanks

Assuming the E2K7 SendConnector has an address space value of "*", that should cause allmail to route through the E2K7 connector.---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Rich, Thank you for the reply. Are you saying that I should not remove the connector? Eventually the 2003 box will be powered down.

I agree with the Rich,Mean... by changing the address space of the E2k3 Legacy Connector and monitor if you face any issues... If not then you can simply delete the same after that.. either from E2k3 or From ADSIEDIT.Arun Kumar | MCSE - 2K3 + Messaging | ITIL-F V3

By just changing the addressspace to something that will never receive email you effectivelydisable the SMTP Connector. If, for some reason, you encounter aproblem you can simple put the original data back into the addressspace on the connector ad you'll be back in business. You can remove the SMTP Connector once you're satisfied thateverything's working as planned.---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
