Remove Public/System Folders on last Exchange 2007 CMS
Migrating from Ex2007CMS to Ex2010DAG in head office. All mailboxes moved just the Public Folders sitting on Exc2007 (CMS=cluster mailbox server). Senior management decided not to carry PF to Ex2010 since we are using Sharepoint now and don't use the PFolders any more! But when I look on properties of Ex2010 Database > Client Settings under default PB Database I see its pointing to Exc2007 CMS. I have not created any PF database on Exc2010 servers. We have 2 Exc2007 servers in remote sites too, which are pointing to the same Exc2007 CMS for their PF referals in headoffice. How can I gracefully remove the PF from my last Ex2007CMS Server node w/o carrying them over to Ex2010 and also w/o breaking Ex2010 :0) thank you

If you are not worried about the exchange 2007 PF data, and if there is no requirement to move the exchange 2007 pf data to exchange 2010... then create a New Public Folder Database in Exchange 2010 and change all the exchange 2010 mailbox database to use the exchange 2010 PF DB

Do you have any Outlook 2030 clients or older? If so, then you need to keep the system folders in the PFs for free/busy and Offline Address Books.

Hi , Hi , You can create a public folder database on exchange 2010, and change all the databases client settings to this public folder database. And ensure your OAB generation server is exchange 2010 server. If you want to migrate public folder. You can also create a public folder on exchange 2010 and replicate between them, but public folder replication is not supported if it is DAG on exchange 2010.
