Remove Exchange 2010 first installation entries in EMC

Hi Guys.

I had a previous exchange 2010 i used for my emails and it started producing errors and ended up mulfunctioning. I searched for articles on the net that would help me fix the problem the Exchange was facing but that didnt help.Out of panic i dont know what i did that enabled me to install another copy of Exchange 2010 on top of that one and it worked, Of which thats the exchange im using at the ,moment.Now this is my Problem, My new exchange still contains entries of the old exchange , eg on the server configuration ''mailbox , Client access and Hub transport which are giving errors in Shell when running commands for my Hybrid configuration with office 365, some points to these old entries hence need help on how i can remove these old installation files without affecting my existing Exchange.

Hi Rodex,

Thank you for your question.

By my understanding, owing to unclearly uninstall, previous Exchange is still in AD database, we could refer to the following steps to clear the previous Exchange :

  1. Run ADSIEDIT.msc in RUN;
  2. Navigate Configuration[domain.com]>service>Microsoft Exchange>domain>Administrative Groups>Exchange Administrative Group>Server;
  3. Then we find the previous Exchange server and delete it.

Notice: before we modify the AD database, we must backup it. I suggest we call MS engineer for help.

If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

Best Regard,

Jim
