Remove Client Access Role from Exchange 2007 32bit management tools
I am trying to uninstall the Exchange 2007 32 bit Management tools from my computer. I have successfully removed the Mailbox Roles but receive an error when I try to remove the Client Access Role. I have tried to uninstall and have successfully removed the mailbox role but receive an error when trying to remove the client access role. Error: Deleting Virtual Directory 'IIS://joseph-2351:administration.sec.state.vt.us/W3SVC/1/ROOT/owa' on JOSEPH-2351 failed Illegal characters in path.... Any help would be appreciated

Hi, Deleted the OWA virtual folder using the below given command: Remove-OwaVirtualDirectory -Identity "Contoso\owa (default web site)" where contoso is the NetBIOS name of the server Recreated the OWA virtual folder using the below given command: New-OwaVirtualDirectory -OwaVersion Exchange2007 If the issue still persists, please try the following steps and then see if how things go from there. 1. Deleted the /Exchange, /Public, /Exchweb and /Exadmin Virtual Directories. 2. Went to "c:\inetpub\adminscripts" directory using command prompt and ran: adsutil.vbs delete DS2MB 3. Restarted the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant Service. 4. The directories were recreated I hope these steps will give you some help. Regards. Shafaquat Ali. HI I have the same issue removing mailbox role. Differenty directory though. Error Deleting virtual directory 'IIS://mail etc.../W3SVC/1/ROOT/Exadmin' illegal characters in path Remove-OwaVirtualDirectory -Identity "mail\Exadmin (default web site)" just errors with a non descript invalid character line 1 character 21 Exchange (Default Web Site) MAIL Exchange2003or2000 Public (Default Web Site) MAIL Exchange2003or2000 Exchweb (Default Web Site) MAIL Exchange2003or2000 Exadmin (Default Web Site) MAIL Exchange2003or2000 owa (Default Web Site) MAIL Exchange2007 owa (Default Web Site) EMAIL Exchange2010 HOWEVER I have co-existence with Exchange 2010 on another server so I see two OWA directories when i run get-OWAvirtualdirectories Can I still run the above inetpub scripts with out messing up my exhange 2010 OWA? (exadmin etc do not exist for 2010 just owa) Will it delete the Exadmin directory? Can I just remove the Exadmin from IIS?

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941201 Stopped IIS than ran these commands worked. No idea why they didnt work 1st time though!
