Remove/hide Journal folder on server account only, in locked down environment

I was referred to this forum from http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2010-outlook/removehide-journal-folder-on-server-account-only/cced41da-3256-41fb-b16e-c7594918f553....

In a locked down
environment, is there a way to hide/remove the Journal folder for the Exchange
Server account only, i.e., not for the PST files that are open?

Hi,

You can follow the steps below to hide the journal folder using MFCMAPI.

1. Start the MFCMAPI and select the folder you want to hide.

2. Choose Property-> Advanced-> Edit given property.

3. In the Property Tag field type: 0x10F4000B. This will resolve to the Property Name: PR_ATTR_HIDDEN. Click OK.

4. A dialog will open; Enable the selection in front of Boolean to hide the folder. Close all the open MFCMAPI windows. The Folder should now be hidden in Outlook.

Note that there is no article explaining whether the above method applies to locked environment, but you can have a try.

Hope this can be helpful to you.

I did a quick web search on MFCMAPI.  Is this typically available to a regular user account in a locked down environment?  It it was, is there a standard way in Windows 7 to access it?
